Integrating Technology

We have enjoyed getting acquainted with some of the technology that we will use throughout the year this week.  Today we had a chance to use our laptops to log-in to our individual "Reading Eggs" accounts.  This program is a fun and motivating way for us to practice our literacy skills.

We also broke out our iPads today to begin our careers as third grade bloggers.  We will be using a student-safe blog site called Kidblog to post our work.  This site will also allow us to comment on other third grade class blogs from throughout the United States and around the world.  We can't wait to post our first "Meet Me" blogs that we are currently drafting.  Our blog website is:

We will continue integrating technology into our curriculum (we are definitely 21st Century Learners) throughout the year.  We are looking forward to working on our individualized math accounts on Moby Math, using Garage Band and iMovie to publish our creative work, creating animations on Voki and Go Animate, and using many other apps and programs.  We are excited not just to learn information, but also to create ways to teach and share that information with others.  Wish us luck!

*Parents I will be sending home passwords for our Lead21 site, Raz Kids, Moby Math, Reading Eggs, and other programs we use very soon.  If you need help with passwords or for helping your child to access any of the programs, just send me an email.

Another Great School Year is Under Way!

The first few days of school flew by, and tomorrow we start our first full week.  It has been great to see the excited faces and smiles each morning.  We are also looking forward to the roll-out of our 1:1 iPads tomorrow.  It has been fun getting to know each other both the familiar faces and the new faces.  Each morning one student brings the "Me Box" to school to share about themselves.  The "Me Box" allows the students to pick 8-10 items to share with the class that teach us more about their likes and personalities.  The picture below shows some of that first day sharing.

I am really looking forward to this school year and am excited to help these young learners unlock their potential.  Let's go "Team Adams"!!!
