Arbor Day Field Trip 2016
We enjoyed an environmental classroom today in honor of tomorrow's Arbor Day. It was a chilly day, but full of interesting learning. Thank you to the Howard County Soil and Water Conservation District for hosting a third grade nature day. We learned about birds, gardening, native animals, wetlands, and trees. Also a big thank you to parent chaperones who helped during the day. Below are some photos of the fun!

Simple Machine Vehicles
It was a busy afternoon of sharing our simple machine vehicles. Students presented first to the class and told about the building of their car, what simple machines were included, and any other information they wanted to share. We then went to the hallway and tried each vehicle on our ramp. It was fun to watch them go and talk about some of the variables that maybe caused the cars to drive in a certain way. We finally went back to the classroom to reflect on any changes we might make if we made another vehicle. The students shared some awesome observations and thoughts. Thanks to our helper Kail who was our photographer today, and enjoy some of the pictures he took below.
